SEJAL GUPTASmall Talk2024Small Talk visualises the absurdity of social codes, in particular, the series' namesake—small talk. The large typography represents ubiquitous phrases overused in small talk, while the smaller, concealed text in the fold of the paper is everything that goes unsaid. and remains imperceptible through the typographic treatment. The anomaly lies within the disconnect between the connotative and denotative meanings behind these phrases. The poster series invites the viewer to come closer to the work and form different readings from up close and a distance.
